Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate
During the Spring semester each year, the Office of Registrar coordinates with academic departments on a review and update of the articulation tables for Rice equivalent credit to be awarded for Advanced Placement (AP) exams. All transfer credit awarded for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate is based on the College Board's
list of exams offerred
. The individual departments will then have the opportunity to inform the Office of the Registrar which exams within their area of study will be counted for Rice transfer credit and what specific course credit will be applied to the student's record. The department has the ability to assign distribution credit to AP credit courses, as applicable. For questions regarding AP credit, please contact Lisa Johnston, ljj@rice.edu.
