Declaring a Major
Undergraduate students must declare a major during or before the spring semester of their second year. Sophomore (or second year) students will not be permitted to register for the fall semester of their junior (or third year) if they have not yet declared a major. The major declaration deadline is listed in the Academic Calendar each year. Undergraduates may declare a major at any time before this deadline and always are free to change their major by completing the appropriate form.
To declare your major:
- Login to ESTHER
.
- Print an unofficial transcript.
- Go to Student Services & Account Information > UG Declaration and Change of Major Form.
- Print and fill out the form. Note: You must submit a separate form for EACH major you are adding or dropping.
- Take the completed form and transcript to the appropriate department for approval. Have the major advisor and/or department chair sign the UG Declaration and Change of Major Form.
If the form cannot be signed immediately, leave it with the department and request that the department forward the form, signed, to the Office of the Registrar.
Return the completed form to the Office of the Registrar.
