During the Spring semester each year, the Office of Registrar coordinates with academic departments on a review and update of the articulation tables for Rice equivalent credit to be awarded for Advanced Placement (AP) exams. All transfer credit awarded for Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate (IB) is based on the College Board's list of exams offerred. During this annual review, individual departments have the opportunity to advise the Office of the Registrar which exams within their area of study are to be accepted as Rice transfer credit, and what equivalent Rice course credit is to be applied to the student's record. The department has the ability to assign distribution credit to AP credit courses, as applicable.
