- Fast and easy-to-use
- Secure transactions
- Real-time order status tracking
- All major credit cards accepted
You can order official copies of your transcript online at the National Student Clearinghouse
. It's easy to use and secure. To ensure confidentiality and to comply with federal regulations, a signature release form is required and must be sent to the Clearinghouse with each order. To obtain your release form, complete the following tasks:
- Go to the National Student Clearinghouse
- Select Rice University from the pulldown menu
- Click Submit
You will be guided through the easy step-by-step process and receive email updates on your order, which you can also track online. If the consent form for your order is still outstanding, you will see links to both a PDF and HTML version of your form. You can return either form by fax, email or mail to the National Student Clearinghouse
. You can also get a copy of the consent form by clicking the link in the reminder emails that the National Student Clearinghouse sends you.
Any major credit card can be used for your transcript order, and your card will not be charged until your order has been completed. Order updates will be emailed to you and you can also check your order status or history online via the National Student Clearinghouse
website.
Note: If your request requires an additional form to accompany the official transcript, please note that in the special instructions section of your Clearinghouse order form. You are responsible for getting that form to the Rice University Office of the Registrar either by fax, mail, or email.

For on-campus students, and others visiting the campus, it is possible to place a transcript order in person. To do so, a Transcript Request Form is available in the Office of the Registrar. Payment for the transcript order must be made in the Cashier’s Office, by cash, check or money order.
Note: In person paper transcript requests will only continue to be accepted for a short period of time. During the 2008 academic year we will be phasing out the paper Transcript Request Forms and will begin asking patrons and walk-in customers to use in-office computer kiosks to order official transcripts through the National Student Clearinghouse
.
