Visiting researchers are students who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program at another institution and are invited by a Rice faculty member or department to come to campus for a short visit to engage in experiential research-specific learning to help assist the faculty with their research efforts or to gain research experience which they might apply toward their degree program at their home institution.
Visiting researchers should first work with the academic department to apply for the specific research program. International visiting researchers and departments will also work with the Office of International Students and Scholars to obtain the necessary pre-certifications, if applicable. Upon approval, and upon completion of the Visiting Researcher Application Process with the Registrar's Office, the Office of the Registrar will create the student record and complete registration procedures.
See department for any questions regarding acceptance into research opportunity. Note that students will need to indicate the faculty member that they will be working with during the course of their visit on campus in the application.
