Summer Degree Conferral

Deadline: Last day to file an application for a August degree conferral with the Office of the Registrar (All Students)
Deadline: Last day to file the following in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for August degree conferral: thesis master's candidacy petitions, certification of non-thesis master's, form for candidacy master's, Ph.D. candidacy petitions
Friday, August 11, 2017 Deadline: Last day to submit theses in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies for August degree conferral by 12:00 noon

Summer Sessions

  • Unless otherwise noted, dates and information apply to both Rice undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Students are charged per credit hour; LPAP billed @ 1 hour. (Courses in the Full Term are not charged tuition.)
  • Early matriculants are charged an additional Health Services Fee.
  • To drop all classes (or last class) from any Summer Session, students must see the Office of the Registrar.

Tuesday, May 16, 2017 Deadline: Last day to drop courses via ESTHER and receive an 80% refund of tuition for Summer Session I
Friday, May 19, 2017 Deadline: Last day to drop courses via ESTHER and receive an 50% refund of tuition for Summer Session I {There will be no pro-rated refunds after this date}
Wednesday, May 24, 2017 Deadline: Last day to drop courses via ESTHER without academic penalty for Summer Session I
