Registrar Email Policy
Email as a Formal Mode of Communication
Recognizing the increasing need for electronic communication with students, the Office of the Registrar at Rice University recognizes and utilizes email as an official means of communication with students.
The Office of the Registrar will routinely send official communications to a student's official university email address. Because email is a primary mechanism for sending official communications to students at Rice, students must check email regularly. Certain communications may be time-sensitive. Failure to read official university communications sent to the student's official Rice email address does not absolve students from knowing and complying with the content of said communications. It is the student's responsibility to maintain adequate memory space in their inbox in order to ensure that all messages are received accordingly.
All use of Rice email should be consistent with Rice University's Appropriate Use of Computer Resources Policy.
