Classroom Technology

The Office of Information Technology has created a detailed website that lists the technology available in OTR scheduled classrooms, as well as instructions on how to use that technology. That site is available here.

Nearly every classroom features an audiovisual presentation system.

  • In most classrooms, this AV system consists of a PC, ceiling-mounted projector, and screen.
  • In the few rooms without a computer, the user may access the AV system via laptop wirelessly or through cable connection.
  • Some rooms feature a flat-screen television instead of a projector and screen.
  • Some rooms contain additional AV components such as document cameras.

The AV equipment is part of Rice's computer network, so a user will need a Rice netID and password to use the equipment.

For assistance in using any of the AV equipment in a classroom, contact the OIT Help Desk at helpdesk@help.rice.edu or 713-348-HELP.
