RE: UPLOADING OF COURSE SYLLABUS (SPRING 2021)

We want to remind all faculty and instructors that for Spring 2021 courses, a course syllabus should be uploaded and available in ESTHER before the first day of classes. This is particularly important this semester in that a student’s ability to “shop” for new courses/course changes will be significantly limited this Spring semester.

If you are teaching a Spring 2021 course and a prepared syllabus (preferably in PDF form), please upload and archive it into ESTHER. Please keep in mind that you can always update and replace it as needed throughout the semester.

MORE INFO, including (faculty and staff) FAQs, inc detailed step-by-step instructions on uploading the syllabus, can be found at:
http://registrar.rice.edu/facstaff/syllabus/

RESOURCES: Rice’s Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) has published syllabus guidelines and a syllabus template, at:
http://cte.rice.edu/syllabus/

PLEASE NOTE (Dean’s Offices & Department Chairs)
Academic Departments can easily view which course offerings have a posted/archived syllabus, and which have not, by using the public “Enrollment Counts” web app. Both the html (web page) and Excel output include a (far right) column entitled “Has Syllabus?” with the answer being “Y” or “N”. A link to this web app can be found at the (OTR) url above, or directly at:
