This e-mail is being sent as a courtesy reminder, and is a highlight of an important deadline in the Fall 2022 Academic Calendar:

— APPLY TO GRADUATE (APPLICATION FOR DEGREE) - (to the Office of the Registrar)
The posted deadline to submit an APPLICATION FOR DEGREE for December 2022 is next week (Friday, September 30th). If you plan to graduate in December 2022, and have not already done so, please submit your paper Application for Degree ppwk to the Office of the Registrar either in person or via e-mail to registrar@rice.edu. (The process is manual and paper-based for graduate students.)
— ACADEMIC PROGRESS (GO TO YOUR ADVISOR / DEGREE WORKS)
As noted in the General Announcements, "Students are responsible for making certain that their plan of study meets all degree and major (and minor and/or certificate) requirements." Students are encouraged to regularly meet with their advisors. To complement advising, students should review their academic progress using the Degree Works tool available in ESTHER.

Please additionally note that next Friday, September 30th is also the deadline to file the following in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies December 2022 degree conferral:
-- Thesis master's candidacy petitions

-- Form for candidacy masters
-- Ph.D. candidacy petitions
